The public is overly optimistic about technology, blindly accepting everything AI technology has to offer while prioritizing efficiency in mass production at the expense of authenticity.
This video installation uses digital modelling combined with 3D printing to discuss the effects of AI on labour, creativity, authenticity and on the future of technology and art. Telling from the first-person perspective of a 3D printing robot that makes art replicas in an assembly line at a technology company, the story shows the gradual development of its awareness, its self-doubt and its final abandonment by the factory.
