“ I dreamed a long dream......”

Introduction

This video installation is based on the research at an Animal Carcasses Disposal Centre in Taizhou (China) and the nearby Dog Shelter. Every day, countless dogs were abandoned, killed, and burned. Closely looking at the industrial chain of the pet economy and the growing interest in pet culture, I reconstrusted the two sites, created a fairytale narrative and environment.
In the film, I adopted the perspetive of a dog to guide the audience through its journey in discovering the ugly truth behind the so called human care,re-examine the industralised, hypocritical human-pet relationship.
